Feeding the birds

Snowmen or snowflakes is the theme this week at QKR Stampede.
I kept my card simple as Christmas had suddenly crept up on me and I still had many cards to make. I used the image feeding he birds (number 10501) and coloured it using Promarkers. After matting it onto green card I added a sentiment using green peel off letters and some silver snowflakes.

Masculine best wishes

The start of new year sees the birthdays of quite a few of my male relatives. This is the first card of the batch. I matted paper from my stash onto black and then white card after which i added a border using a strip from another paper. The picture is cut down from one of the designs in Hunkydory's Little Book of planes, trains and automobiles and was also matted onto black card before attaching.
The greeting was cut from black card using the Tattered Lace ornamental best wishes die and removing all the 'extras'. Finally I added three black card candi.

Santa

The theme for the challenge at QKR Stampede is Santa. This image of tangled Santa (number 16402) made me laugh. I coloured him using Promarkers and then fussy cut him out and pasted him onto black card as I felt this made the image stand out more. After rounding the corners using a punch I matted it onto white card, paper from a pad called Berry Merry by Jennifer Ellory and then white card. Using a tattered Lace die I cut two lightbulb garlands, coloured them using Promarkers and attached them to the card.

Birthday word search

Celebrate! is the theme for the new challenge at Creative Corner and it is being sponsored by Bugaboo. After all the Christmas cards made lately I thought I would make a birthday card. I used Bugaboo's digi image called Word search brat birthday girl colouring it using Promarkers in the main. I used glitter gel pens on the cake cases and added Glossy Accents to the cherries. After matting it onto red card I attached some random letters cut from two different coloured card using Tattered Lace dies.

Little donkey

Non traditional Christmas is the theme at Crafty Cardmakers so I chose to use the non traditional colours of blue and grey-brown for my card. Both papers and topper were printed using the CD ROM 'Once upon a Christmas' from Creative Crafting World and I matted each onto core'dinations cardstock. The holly swirls were also cut from core'dinations cardstock using a Tattered Lace die. I finished my card with the peel off sentiment 'Peace on earth.

Winter window

This week the challenge at Crafting From the Heart is being sponsored by

and as usual it is an anything goes theme.

I have used one of Beccy's Place seasonal windows digis and added a computer generated sentiment. I coloured it using Promarkers and after adding Stickles to the snow on the branches and window panes I matted and layered it onto grey and then white card.
The little bird on the window sill was cut using the Tattered Lace die oriental blue bird and I used the Tattered Lace die festive robin to cut the robin in the foreground. Both were coloured using Promarkers and attached to the card using glue gel.

Christmas robin

I have many birds, including robins, in my garden and from my kitchen window I watch them picking at the berries on my neighbours holly tree so I could not resist this Fluffy robin Tattered Lace charisma die and the accompanying CD ROM.
I matted the more colourful of the papers onto brown core'dinations cardstock and then white card. The more muted paper I cut into a circle using a Spellbinders die and matted it onto core'dinations cardstock which had been cut out using a scalloped circle die. From white card I cut a spray using a Tattered Lace holly swirl die and coloured it using Promarkers. I then decoupaged the fluffy robin and positioned him on the spray. Finally I added peel off letters in the scallops to form my greeting.

Stockings

This week the QKR Stampede challenge would like you to use non traditional Christmas colors, so I have used browns and greys and tried to create a look of the late 40's.
The image is called Stockings hung (number 9003) and after colouring it using Promarkers I cut it out and using foam pads matted and layered it onto paper (which I thought looked like old-fashioned wallpaper) from my stash, core'dinations cardstock and white card. I then found some waste from a peel off greeting, matted it onto mirri card and positioned it over the fireplace where perhaps a mirror or picture would have been placed.

Joy

Here is my second card as a DT member of Dragonfly Dreams for this months challenge entitled Christmas.
I matted Kaisercraft Paper onto green card and then white card. From white card I cut out the nativity scene using a die from Cottage Cutz and attached this to the bottom left hand corner. I coloured the Christmas wreath from Fred She Said using Promarkers, added glitter to the fur branches and cut it out using a Spellbinders classic scalloped circle die. Before attaching it to the card I matted it onto green card.

Pair of robins

The theme for this month's challenge at Dragonfly Dreams is Christmas and it is being sponsored by Fred She Said.
After colouring the image Pair of robins from Fred She Said I embossed the card using Sheena Douglas' festive embossing folder. I then rubbed distress ink gently over the embossed area before matting and layering it onto orange core'dinations cardstock and green card. I then added glitter to the holly leaves, Glossy Accents to the birds eyes, a double bow and a peel off sentiment.

Dollar Graphics Depot who are offering a$15 gift certificate

Christmas tag

For the QKR Stampede challenge this week you are being asked to make a Christmas tag.
I created my tag by simply using a Tattered Lace half circle die at one end of a rectangle and a hole punch. The image is number 19603 and is called pine cone accent. I coloured it using Promarkers and added glitter to the foliage. I then matted it onto dark green card and stuck a peel off sentiment strip in a half semi-circle around the image. I added two strips of ribbon (one green and one grey) for the tag tie.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
   My Crafting Stories - Christmas

All is bright

MKH is sponsoring this week's challenge at Creative Corner the theme of which is retro/vintage Christmas.
The background nativity scene was printed using Once Upon A Christmas CD ROM from Creative Crafting World.
The left hand border was made using the digi image Christmas candle from MHK Designs. I coloured the candles and greenery using Promarkers, the baubles using Sakura gel pens, used liquid pearls for the berries on the foliage and foiled the lines around the flames. After using distress ink on the background I attached it to the nativity scene and wrapped narrow ribbon along the border edge before matting the whole onto cream card. I then attached the sentiment, also from MHK, and outlined the edges using black peel off strips.
